Chapperstee Mosaics Chapperstee Mosaics: My Mosaics

Welcome!

This is a new blog of mine about mosaics. I have always loved mosaics and I have experimented with making some of my own. See My Mosaics. I am also enjoy visiting historical sites most of these are from Roman times or just after. There are also a lot of Public Mosiacs that people often walk past without noticing. These can all be seen on the page links above.

My Mosaics

These are some of  my mosaics. This is the first mosaic I made from a kit. This inspired me to design and create my own mosaics.

Frogs are popular subjects for mosaics and this one was based on a design by Martin Cheek
I used old kitchen tiles for the white background - a bit of upcycling. The other mosaic tiles were purchased from various other shops.

This one was inspired by a photograph I saw of a peacock butterfly. I love watching butterflies in the garden as they settle on buddleias. I used coloured beads from a Buffys Bead Shop in Kingly Court for the wings and antennae.

I have always enjoyed watching dragonflies. This mosaic was inspired by them as they fly over a pond. I used mirror tiles to get a shimmery effect for water/sky.
